HELP!! Headlights come on but they wont come up
If I tap on the lamp they will come up but the engine dies out. Now they wont come up at all, and if I tap on the headlight motor, the engine will die, but still no headlights rotating. I remember when I first got the car, the engine would die out once in a bluemoon when I switch the headlights on. WTF, does the engine have to do with the headlight motor? Has anybody had a problem like this before? I need to get my headlights fixed ASAP this is my daily driver.
Thanks
Thanks

Justin,
Have you cleaned all of your contacts/grounds/fuses and checked the motor linkage to make sure it isn't contacting any of the wiring looms? If those are alright the problem will probably be in the headlight motor, headlight relay or light switch. Try removing fuse 19 (headlight motor) then manually raising the lights. If it still kills the engine it would appear the switch is bad. If it doesn't kill the engine, try replacing the relay. If that doesn't cure the problem the motor probably has a shorted wire.

Also check the wiring at the plug into the headlight motor -sometimes hard to get at, tucked in tightly. 928 intnl catalogue gives 1-brown/red, 2- white/black,3-yellow/green, 4-red/black. Note what you have before changing. Check that you have the big double relay in the correct socket (here http://www.928gt.com/928gt/Index.html , position xx1x-xx (19-20), pno 928.618.107.00.) The engine dying when you persuade the lights up sounds like a short in the motor circuit. I would check that the fuse has not been uprated to the point of being dangerous - Fuse 19, 16A
