Default Cheap and decent open carrier from East Coast?

Hi.

Has anyone used one that they have been reasonably happy with? I am not looking for the most expensive since the car is a project car.

Thanks

Good score fast951. I was watching that auction. The car is about 10 miles from me. If I didn't already have a project S4 I would have bought it. I was at a local Jag dealer a few weeks ago and they were loading a bunch of new jags into trailers to take to a show. I can't remember the name of the transport co. Call Woburn Foreign Motors at 800-273-4602 and ask them who they use for transport. Who knows, maybe the price is reasonable.

Last year, i had my 86.5 transported from FL to CA. It took about a week and a half I think. I was very pleased with the transporation. I would definately use them again. I went through a friend's local shipping center (http://www.mbpostal.com/).

Don't use A-A Auto Transport. Might want to talk to the new Rennlist Sponsor who carries autos.

When I purchased my 928 I had work done at the Porsche dealer. The dealers are constantly shipping vehicles nation wide not to mention the delivery of new models to show rooms all over North America. Perhaps you can approach a dealer near you and maybe you can purchase space on their carrier. It worked for me and the 928 was delivered to my door at quite a reasonable amount. My 928 was shipped from Calgary Alberta to my door in Owen Sound Ontario approx...2500 kms with two other Porsches(2005's) coming east . They were all the same colour (Silver grey) . Not a problem arrived in the same state it was shipped, covered carrier and was insured against damage by the company. I was very happy with the outcome....Just my two cents ....and another avenue to check out.....Good-luck Bill 86.5 928S

Ditto (avoid) DAS
I'm sure they've taken excellent care of many. I just not one of them.
