Are you sure it's an '85? It's got the older style shifter.

Repairing or parting?

Hi Heinrich,
I see the car has the later (S4) type seats... same as my '86 S2. I didn't think they fitted those seats before '86.

I hadn't realised before that it is a LHD model, so I must be mistaken that the LH S was not sold into Europe.

Does it have a cat/O2 ?

Regards

Gentlemen thanks and for your kind comments. I am pretty happy with the purchase. Some of the Euros here have verifyable dealer records for the seats that came in them, and some have these seats. They aren't actually afaik even 928 seats, but rather the stock 911/944 seats of the day. I cannot verify with certainty on this example but there are indeed some where it can be verified definitely that the factory installed them.

From looking under the car just quickly I think it has cats but I'm off to visit with the Canadian 928 community this morning so I barely have time to type this ... more to follow on return. Tony is correct, that is a keeper and as unique as I've ever seen. Maybe another 10 sec and we would have been history? Who knows.

Dave, this is a 1985 Euro car

TB failure - can you ONCE AND FOR ALL solve the mystery...is the EURO interference or non???

As far as I can see from the picture of the engine, it has the twin distributors of the Euro LH

I know the previous owner of this car..and yes...true euro....that has been...federalized to a degree....and at some point the fenders were done too.....

One thing I do notice about the euros is that they have a lot of hold over stuff from previous model years.....I saw a 86 euro with the old style door panels...even some 87 S4 euros had the older door panels.....who know why..maybe a personal pref of the europeans?....don't know...or perhaps..cost....save a little money on what could be deemed unecessary accoutrements?

Later,
Tom

Thumbs up

Good purchase, Heinrich. And it's black. One of my favorite (6) colors! Congrats!

John,
Yep..the older single speaker style...with perforated leather ....rather than the twp speaker in each door panel. Could be the germans didn't upgrade to the High end stereo very often .......Seen some perforated single speaker door panels in a few pics of 88 CS's too....again..stereo delete...so..maybe there is something here...

later,
Tom
