Seeing Chirs's recent post about finishing doors brought this to mind.

Does anyone have shaved door handles? Any gotchas? Any kit reccomendations?

On a 944 this seams like a better idea since they ahve the old VW style door handle (I've thought about doing this on my 944). On the 928, the door handle blends in so well it almost doesn't seam worth it. If the car didn't have the side trim and GTS mirrors it would give it a very clean look.

I shaved my whole body once on a bet gone bad.... darn raiders... one more point and I could've avoided two weeks of itching in the worst places... glad they moved...

obviously a filler plate made of aluminum would be needed, after market car alarm is always nice and a security popper somewhere on the car incase the batteries in the remote pad die and you cant get in the car. A good body shop knows how to smooth the handles and a good alarm or stereo installer knows the tricks of the bypass switch.

Rob,

I shaved my door locks on my car. It was a pia,but looked much cleaner. Never went the entire route with the handles though.

Dude! I know what you mean .. I got crabs one time in Korea --- ummmm 1973 I think -- and after the medics sprayed my entire crotch with some kind of purple bug spray the dude pulled out this like foot long straight razor. Shaved every bit of hair off and then I got to rub some kind of orange cream on for two weeks.

Not a good experience but one I will never forget.

bet was w/GF... colored crames? plucking? yiiiikess! bugs? tooo funny!!!

seen a few street rods around w/remote/electic openers, no external handles/locks... thought that looked pretty cool...(as long as the battery is fine)...

except for the occasional feet poking out of the sunroof, I always thought the wipers were more of an "eyecatcher"/abberation to the clean lines than the handles though...

I thought you shaved half of it, set fire to the other half then stabbed the critters as they ran out.....
