Default Fuel Pressure Gauge Adapter - Murf Kit

The Murf SC kit comes with a fuel pressure guage with a nifty adapter for the fuel rail test port. Does anyone know where to source that particular part?

I don't know how to reference the original thread where it started, but searches under "fuel pressure gauge" will return it.

Carl at 928 Motorsports is sourcing the part for me as I write this. Not cheap, but I want everything buttoned up properly...

All i did was tap the test port cap with 1/8 npt-27 and then thread a 90' fitting that came with my Autometter gauge in there. The sender threads into the 90' fitting. I have the electric fuel pressure gauge..its displays ther reading inside the car.

What fitting are you getting?

I have the fitting machined from hex stock with 1/4npt thread on one end and metric thread on the other end. I then put a recess on the metric side to house an o-ring in order for it to seal against the rail.

Anything less than sealing it against the rail will be a potential leak so be careful which method you choose.

Tim, how much for one of those nifty things, I like the o-ring idea! Sealing the cap nut is the biggest PITA.

I know these things have been around for some time and I'm not knocking those who have chosen to used them in this way, but after seeing many of those little gauges spring leaks in lesser environments, I just can’t bring myself to install one on the end my fuel rail.

Many Gauge mfg offer a sender isolator that you can remote mount thats a better choice IMHO.

Carl mentioned it was from an aircraft manufacturer, a metric ball fitting to a 1/8 NPT fitting. Sounded like it was a perfect fit and the same sort of thing Murf has. Carl mentioned it was going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $40, which was a bit of an eyepopper, but I don't want to cut corners simply drilling a test cap, or running around trying to find someone who could machine in a recess...I figure time/convenience has some value, esp. if the fitting is specifically designed and a perfect fit for the flare on the end of the rail.

Although I did like Andy's idea of running it inline one of the fuel hoses, and just clamping it as tight as the end caps were done.

This isolator allows you to mount any Auto Meter gauge inside the car safely. It is rated at 200 psi working pressure with a maximum rating of 300 psi. The kit includes 4 ft. of braided hose.

Whoa! If i read that correctly you are routing the fuel to the gauge that is now in the cabin? Thats insane.

Not mine. I bought Nordskog guages which work off of sending units--both boost, and FP. Although if I had a choice about pumping fuel into the cabin or a hot engine compartment, I'd choose the cabin. At least then you'd know just as instantly, but without the flames (probably).

I was wondering if Murph still sells these fuel guage adapters. I PM'ed him a while back but did not get a response. No big deal, he is a busy guy. Thought I would ask here if anyone has one for sale.

Thanks
Mike
