Default 928 Specialist in South Florida? Looking at a GTS

Hi all, I did a search and there are a few recommendations for Florida 928 specialists but bar the dealers ( which I do not really trust) I could not find much info on South Florida 928 Specialists...
I'm fixing to go see a GTS with 110000 miles on the clock and while I know from reading everything here that miles should not be a huge worry, I also understand that at these miles there could be some big ticket items that may need attention and these babies are not cheap to buy... She hopefully will be my daily driver as I always wanted a 928 and the GTS is simply irresistible.

I would appreciate any recomendations on a 928 specialist in the Miami area.

TIA

I'm in miami, the only honest place that I know of is "German Car Care" on US-1. He is very good and he will tell you everything that might be wrong with the car. What color is the GTS?? There are only six GTS's in Miami.

Yes, it is a euro car. I saw that car listed about three weeks ago on Cars.com. It is amazon green metallic with a green FULL leather interior. I mean dash, center console, instrument housing etc. Everything is leather! They always saved the leather for the euro cars. We (the U.S.) got the upgraded vinyl option!

Looks like an interesting car, though. No ugly U.S. side markers or door side moldings. Make sure you check the condition of the motor mounts, especially at that mileage, plus all the other usual goodies.

It would be my incling to think that the car could be bought very cheap. I'm in the business as you may well know and I would doubt that he has alot of people banging down his door for this car. The heavy drawbacks are that it is a euro car and has very high mileage. I would guess that this car could and should be bought for less than $20K, certainly no more.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

One question though...was is the deal with this been a Euro model?? Why is that bad???

Wait a second, are you certain you are not confusing this with a 997 Danny?

I've so lost my mind after looking at that car's ad on Cars.com! The green matches my eyes. And I might even be able to deal with the automatic transmission, though I'm sure I'll pine for a real tranny~

Can I have it? I promise I'll be a very good boy-

Heh...no...getting a 997 would mean giving up one of my 2 993's... Not a change in this happening... I LOVE my 993's!!! This will be Porsche Nbr 3 in my garage....
Furthermore I've always been a fan of the front engined Porsches ( owned 3 of them 924,944,968) and I firmly believe that the 928 GTS is the epitomy of a proper GT with the functionality, looks and performance that it has. Everytime I see one on the street I lust for it...
I'll get this baby hopefully next week through a PPI and let you guys know the 411 on it.

Yes, I know that car very well. As I said, there are very few GTS's in miami and I know them all. The owner had the euro car imported himself. It's a very rare car indeed. I would think that you would have to pay a primium for it being a true euro model?? Any ways, don't worry about the green on green. It looks very classy in person. That car atracts allot of attention were ever it goes. His licence plate reads "THE LAB", lol.. I also wouldn't worry about the miles, it has been his daily driver since I can remember.

The reason I didn't buy that car was the dash. This might seen like a dumb reason, but there are no replacements. The dash has some warpage around the airbag area. This would drive me crazy in no time. The dash is not all leather, it's vinyl just like an american market car. Since it has been his daily driver, the car has gotten alot of suns rays....

The best shop that I know of in South Florida is Gulf Performance in Pompano Beach. They know 928s. I have never been to that shop when there haven't been a half dozen '28s there. They service many euros, including mine.

You would need to contact Vince at 954 783-7345. Tell him that Cameron gave you his number and he will treat you right (considering how much I have 'invested' in them!). They will do a very thorough job including compression etc. They are not the cheapest, but they are good.
