Hah! Beifall, Dave

---------------------

Yes, I understand now! "Kraft" meaning the excellent work. Living under a bridge? I hope that does not mean you will be bankrupt soon. Besides, living under a bridge in France or Germany would be disgusting! Have you seen what people discard under bridges and what things float down the river? Yech!

We are "off-topic" so I will say goodbye for the moment.

I thank the US Army Language School for my French, German, Spanish and Korean .... all learned poorly and spoken badly. But I can order a beer in five different languages!.

Cheers,

Dave

that is very impressive !
Ok while i was looking for some informationsabout the 928 i came across error codes. I can add one voice synthsesis to translate those error codes in one human understandable way. For example it is possible to imagine to get a clear message instead one numeric code as the error occurs. What do you think about that ?
Usefull or not ?

I think it would be moderately useful, but I think each of us would hope to never hear from "the voice," since it would imply some sort of fault.

To me, integrating the climate control head/central command functionality would be more useful. But if you're going to do both, so much the better.

I can promise nothing about the climate contole as for the moment i unfortunately have not more informations about the connectors and pin-out, but it's going to be done if i can reach those infos which should be easier to get than the hybrid schematics

Sometimes a trouble can start with a little nothing like some knocks that human can't notice but that the sensors do.
Now if a little voice tells you events usually not noticed this can save your engine's life. Today this is still sci-fi but i already have the needed hardware, the voice synthesis....i suppose i will have to find an electrical reference book about the sharks

The voice must be that of a very sexy woman or man ... who breathes heavily and tell you "Oh Dave! Please Not So Fast!" during the warning for over-reving the eingine in 5th gear ....

You get the picture, I am sure.

Talking

Ha ha yes i see but i don't think this will be so nice and sexy if it says to you, "warning knock detected on the cylinder 2 and 6, joint gasket failure, autodestruction imminent....you got 5 seconds to leave your shark and send papers and keys to Kraft"

Please leave out the sexy voice that says "Your timing belt is now broken. Have a nice day."

A small video i took with my photo camera so the result is very poor but i will try to borrow a good video camera from my neighbours. You can get this video which is around 3Mb weight.
Again sorry about the bad video quality, i hope i can provide a better one soon
http://www.9xx-cars.com/MOV02735.MPG

if the link doesn't work as is, the use the "save under" command from your browser

This video shows only the audio operating overview and not all the possible options, it took ages for me to upload this video with a 56K modem. We should have aDsl for january 2005 in our little village so i can send larger videos with all the features and hopefully better movie quality.

For the Gps i added a virtual keyboard but some people which are not so familiar with it or doesn't want to search the virtual keys on screen then i decided to add the writing recognition, this feature will be usefull only with the gps for entering starting point adress and target adress. This gives one overall comfortable feeling, writing anywhere on the touchscreen.

Now if you want to have one overview of the efficiency of the writing recognition simply by writing on the screen with finger then look at this little video.
Sorry if it's as usual the video is not of good quality but you should be able to see the writing recognition in action. It was not so easy to write with one hand while maintaining screen and photo camera recording.

The test is shown on my 21" screen but you can believe it it works with any pointer like touchscreen

The video embedding and command panel is now finished
The bar containing buttons is auto hiding when not in use.
Here are few screenshots

Oh, that was a movie ... I thought it was the South Carolina Highway Patrol giving Rixter a Warning ticket for speeding.

Cheers,
Dave
