I need to install my new front shocks on my '88 S4. (The boge shocks have been lying in my garage for weeks).
Does anyone know what size the 'C' spanner needs to be to fit the adjuster on top of the coil spring?
I need to buy one before I start.
Thanks in advance.

It takes a very, very small wrench for the top adjuster

Peter,
I found that a "strap" wrench worked just fine. Leaves no marks and has infinitely fine degrees of adjustment as opposed to the long increments of the notched tool. Its the kind of tool you can pick up at any hardware store.
