Default Seat disassembly

Im looking for some education on seat disassembly. I need to replace the passenger seat frame and need to know how to take off the cushions and put on the new frame. Hopefuly not have to remove the covers. I am off until Weds next week and want to get at this misc stuff that needs to be done.

Joe, I think you are out of luck here...maybe. which 'frame' are you replacing - the base or the back? The back is pivoted on one visible bolt on the inner side, and another under the covering on the outside - undo the zip on the back, and start lifting the covering until you can see it. You may be able to take the back covering off via the zips, and undoing some clips.
I just had mine totally recovered, and let the upholstery man do it all once I delivered the seats to him....
good luck.

JP, I need to swap my cushions/covers from one frame to another. One of the PO's had the seat back welded because it broke and now it does not tilt or move forward to get to the back. That is why I need to whole frame. But thats a good idea to bring it to an upholstery guy and have him to the swap. Shouldn't cost much to do a swap.

I think its safer to have this stuff done professionally if its in a trade you dont know....You know how to get the seats out ok? slide back until you can get a tool on the front screws, then raise rear to max height, and you can access rear screws....

Oh, yeah. I had that fun plenty of times now. I also have the fun to change a switch on the driver seat. Isn't that special.
