Default 86 Euro on Ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...507034818&rd=1

It looks like the driver's side fender has been replaced, no euro marker.

The BIN price seems high. Looks like that car needs some attention. The seats are out of a pre-85. Strut brace has had better days. Doesn't "look" like an 80K car so I would be curious as to when the metric odo/speedo was swapped and when the car was imported.
It is an 86 Euro which is cool because you don't see too many of them in the States. This car has a lot of potential for the right price. I hope it finds a good owner.

Someone did the buy it now. Steve is right, the drivers' side front fender was replaced with one off of a US car (side marker light in front of wheel as opposed to closer to the door. Look at the photo of the passenger side and you can see the correct euro marker light.

Well, no kidding! That just happened. People like the Euros, and I understand. I paid a premium for mine, but not that premium.

Someone should e-mail the buyer and point out the difference in the front fenders. You don't change them for no reason and it's most likely due to a needed repair. That alone should knock thousands off the selling , er, final price.

OK why the fender power antenna ?? that ended in 1984 !! That would be a LOT of money for a TMU car which may not be a 1986 at all.

Jim,
Yes, and the pre-85 seats! When did they switch the horn button/cover from '928S' to 'Porsche'

Something is fishy in Ebay land.

I emailed the buyer. It is the right thing to do so I thought I should try. Plus he /she is bidding on one of my auctions and I have to protect my bidders.

It also has the pre 85 at shifter in it...with the older seats..yet newer door panels....truly a Porsche parts car..haha......

Of note though..the 86 euro we did a story on in the first 928 Forum issue, had early door panels, later seats... and a Aussie spec 32 valve engine. Of interest was the presence of the S4 suspension and S4 brakes..on an early 86.

Hope the buyer looks a little closer before he plunks down the cash..

Later,
Tom

My 85 US has the fender antenna, no sunroof and no side mouldings. Is there something I should be questioning here?
