Did they have the gray burlwood? I had it in a Acura S-Type Sedan and liked the gray burlwood. It would probably look nice also with your interior color.

Yes, in fact they have TWO grey wood options (see http://www.jageng.com/images/colour_...hartwood_2.jpg). I was considering those also, but opted for a more contrasting, warmer color.

The material choice really depends on what you want to achieve - if you want the interior to look more sporty, I think the carbon is the best choice. If you want it to look more luxuirous, then the wood options are the way to go. If you decide on wood, you have the choices between cool and warm, light and dark, real and synthetic...

Well... You guys aked for more pictures, and here they are. I have added a few additional console trim pieces since the last pictures were taken:

Thank you! I like the fact that the grey keeps the interior light and neutral. The wood really warms things up, and that's why I wanted it.

Note that I was trying to limit myself to not putting too many pieces, or too many colors/materials in there. Right now there are only three dominant colors on the dash: classic grey, black, and the wood trim.

If I had a black or other dark dash, I would probably add some metal pieces, like the **** surrounds, to break things up a little.

Next I want to get the brushed aluminum lettering for the door sills.

Do you really want to know the secret? Well, it's actually quite simple: The car is not driven much to begin with, and hardly ever in bad weather.

In other words: I avoid bringing any dirt into it, so there is little to clean up... (I like things clean, but not the process of cleaning)

What else are you planning to do, Malibu?


Malibu's interior shows the lower console surround, which looks best on manual transmission cars, or cars with non-wood shifter plate (consider brushed steel for the shifter plate).

I opted not to use this lower console surround on my car, because my shifter plate has the wood, and I did not want to overindulge on the same material. But I do admit one of Jager's metal shifter plate sounds quite intriquing...

Malibu's car also has the round vent option, which ties in with the round ***** and instruments, giving the console a distinctly different look from stock. I think these round vents combine nicely witih the metal gauge bezels that are available for the pre-'89 model cars.

One thing I might have done differently on Malibu's car would be the material for the console. Given the exposed metal on the steering wheel and shift ****, I would have chosen metal (or maybe carbon) instead of wood.

As a rule of thumb, I would recommend trying to limit yourself to three colors total on the dashboard, console, and steering wheel.

Simply beautiful.

My car has the xl4 dark rootwood option. $5213 in it's day. From the pics, your's looks even nicer with the additional accents around the door a/c inserts and the parking brake trim etc. I know that you didn't have to lay out the price of a mint 944 (about $5213) for it either.

Nicole, after my neck/nerve surgery, I want to get another Porsche and start adding THOSE touches to it! Ya won me over, woo-hoo!

Any sharks lurking around, say Black/black in CA? And how hard would it be to learn to work on, lol? I need to upgrade ze boyfriend to something... I told him it had to be a Porsche, or he could walk! He loves Sharks, no problem there.
