Does the supercharger unit itself need rebuilding after a certain number of miles?

I may have to make mine the test-case 86.5 next year.

While we are at it, Tim and Andy, what is the belt-failure mode of each type of S/C equiped car? Does it fail into normally aspirated function, or does the idle S/C choke out and stop the engine?

BrianG,
If the belt were to fail for any reason on a positive displacement setup (Andy's kit) then the car will function without boost. It might have less power than a regular NA setup because the manifold was designed for forced induction, but it works.

My car broke down @ 928intl a while back (a good 30-45 mins from where I live), and I had to replace a wiring harness and cut my belt. I drove the car back home with no problems, then proceeded to drive the car around for another week without the belt.

As far as I know there has never been a belt failure on a Murf928 car. If a belt were to fail the sc would just stop spinning but the car would still run. There would be the danger of the broken belt interfering with the other belts and that could create other problems I suppose.

Please ask Andy about his experience in one of the threads discussing what he has done, this thread should only be relative to the Murf928 centrifugal cars and kits.

I would like to ask that everyone adhere to my request. I do not want people to start making any sort of comparison to others, good or bad, on this thread. There are plenty of threads to dredge up for that or you may start a new thread, although I will not participate.

Thank you all in advance.
