Default Newbie here, stopping in to say hi

I just read a very awesome article on here about a S/C for the 928, so I had to join and learn more about the cars. I am 26 from Dallas area, graduate in a month as a Finance major, looking for a kick *** job to finance my toys. The 928 was bought new by my pops in Dallas in 1986, and is mine on the day I graduate! Looking to do some minor things to it, but don't want to loose any of it's easy driving demeanor. Adding 150 RW via a blower sounds fun though if it doesn't break anything. 928s aren't cheap!

Nice arraw of cars youve got there. Welcome to the forums. I just joined a few months ago, the guys here are top notch. Cant find nicer people anywhere else.

Welcome. The super charger guys will likely pipe up. Seems that you can get to 400 RWHP pretty easily with no damage. A guy on here sells total kits and put one on a car with over 200K and once complete drove it across contry with no worries.

'twas a simple question, based on his declaration that he does not yet own the 928. I figgered the same applied to the other cars.

LMAO, its an honest question, not sure I need to explain myself, but why not. The 86 and the Benz, are mine, the 87 S4 is mine the day I grad college, Dec 10/04, so I already have the title being transferred to TX as soon as I go get it registered. My mom lives in CA where the car is at, and the house here already has the other 4 cars listed, so there is no where to garage it. The Vette will be mine the day the lease is up on the Benz, and the 1990 was bought new, so it is part of the family so to speak. It was a project car for my dad and I that got out of control. So to cliff notes this bogus post, the 86 GT and 03 Benz are mine, the other three are dad's until I graduate, then the 928 is mine as well. He has a 1999 Ford Lightning, 1998 XJR, and a 1992 Carrera Tiptronic Cab in CA as well... bunch of old cars. I am pushing hard for a 06 Z06 after he found out he loves the 05 so much...

Welcome to the board! If I can make one suggestion, then it would be to do a search here on K&N filters. You might want to rethink using one on your 928, given the risks involved.

You live near where I grew up. How close to Pleasnanton are you?

My dad spoke of that a few years back about them not being good, what is wrong with them? I am doing a search now, thanks for the heads up!

I would be one to recommend not using the K&N - I didn't wait long enough for the oil to soak in apparently, and some got pulled through and fouled my MAF - $350 later, it's back to normal.

Anyways, welcome to the board fliegen - I have a feeling you might find yourself in the 928 more than in the rest of your fleet. Good luck with the SC - I am planning on doing the same on my 87 in the not too distant future. Keep us posted!

Wow, so thats the problem is the oil fouling the MAF? The K&Ns have been in the car for years, and no problems, so maybe it is a freak thing, I dunno, but it deff felt like it picked up power...

Yea Bill, I am leaning towards the Murph kit, it seems the best thought out, and I like the centrufigual S/C pull like the car is going to lift off... imagine it in a 408 stroker 3300 lb car with 20 psi...
