I need to know of an exceptional service center for 928's in the Sarasota Florida area. I am not from that area (or even close, for that matter), but need an expert PPI before closing on a GTS I'm looking at.
Any suggestions would be great. Preferably a place with experience on later model 928's.
Any opinions on Suncoast Porsche? They are located very close to the car in question.
Thanks.

I was at a enthusiast / auto cross event a Suncoast this weekend. They are pretty user friendly. I talked to several of their mechanics and I think they would be very qualified. I would say to call their service manager and explain what you need and have them look at it for you.

okbarnett,
I did just give them a call and they seemed to be very nice and knowledgeable. I traditionally have my doubts about Porsche dealers when it comes to 928's since they're kind of out of touch with that model.
They said the cost would be $180 for a bumper to bumper inspection that is the same as what they would perform to be called "certified". They check for paintwork also, which I was particularly concerned about.
I guess I'll schedule an appointment with them and let you know of the results. Thanks for the info.

Sounds like a good inspection. I would trust them to do it. Might specify for them to check the common 928 problems; steering rack leaks, ac system leaks, ac functions, top engine hose and rubber deterioration, trans fluid condition, dash and interior cracking conditions.
