Default Weissach Bamberg Digital Radio

One of my first tasks when I get the Weissach is to return the radio and speaker system to stock.

I need a working (good condition) Blaupunkt Bamberg digital radio and memory control unit plus the amplifier.

Anyone out there got such a beast?

Please PM me with any information.

Thanks,
Roger

I was hoping you bought Jessa's since I'm going to copy her speaker grill design. Would have been easier to make you an offer.

What part of the speakers are you changing? Just curious what you've found to fit.

Hi Hacker,
I'm **** about keeping my cars as close to stock as possible - so I will not be making changes to the speakers.
I was at a 928 meeting this morning and we were talking about Jessa's car.
Scott Carlson was talking about those speaker enclosures and how he used to make them.
Hope he chimes in here.
If he does not I will contact him seperatly for you.
Best,
Roger

Roger: I just wrote a response in your other thread...

At Sharktoberfest I noticed that 928 International has a stack of radios in their warehouse. You might want to call them and see, if they have the one you are looking for. I'm not familiar with the Bamberg, so I can't tell you, if I have seen one there...

82 still has the non-DIN opening doesn't it? You have to change the console trim to fit the square radios?
...

There's a Blaupunkt CR-3001 supposedly from an '82, on eBay:

...

I had a '69 Eldorado for a while, which I spent hours and $$ to find a factory FM radio and replaced the dash which had been hacked to fit a new style radio. Sure enough, one week after I sold it, the fellow hacked open the dash and put in a new style radio!

Porken,
Yes I am watching this for the amp.
The system was fitted to the 92 as the base setup.
However I beleive the amp was an option acording to PET.
Thanks,
Roger

I've given up on stock since there is not one speaker that will fit in the stock location that sounds better than a boom box. My days of 20 speaker custom setups are over, but I'd like something at least up to par with the stock system in my 2000 VW. I do prefer the stock look overall, but since there is a roolbar going in with racing seats, not really an issue anymore.
I already slightly damaged the door panel trying different speakers (leather is no longer smooth over the speaker) an enclosure or a newer door panel are my options. The newer door panel will require cutting into the door, no thanks.

Excellent! Thank you. That will save me so much time over the winter. I was dreading trying to make an enclosure.

H-P,

I'll be glad to help design the enclosures for you. Fabrication is easy and requires simple wood working tools like a sabre saw.

Depending on how deep you want the enclosure, door steel modification may be necessary.
I make it to Milwaukee on a regular basis. We can connect up some time and get this drawn out.

Next time I'm heading to MKE, I'll drop yo a line.

Scott
