Window Rattles When Partially Down
Anyone know if I need any additional parts to tighten up my window rattle when the windows are partially in the down position? I bought the new roller on the end on the arm as suggested by 928Intl..
Thanks,
Ron

You need to either adjust or replace the window roll-up guides inside the door.....

I had this same thing happen on my car and I also bought the rollers. Come to find out there are two bolts that hold the glass to the mechanism and they had just worked loose. Tightened them up and good as new. I hope you are as lucky as I was. I have heard others say these bolts are notorious for doing this. Good luck

Perry and Mike,
I'll dive in tonight. Just seems loose to me too. I have a feeling that some of the parts may be hardware store parts. I have felt and contact cement. Doesn't appear as rocket science.
Thanks,
Ron

The felts can be seen with the glass rolled right down, enough to know if they are your problem. Most likely is the nylon guides are worn on the steel post. If you pull the escutcheon around the inside door release (one philips head visible with the handle pulled), then the filler panel behind the the release (slide upwards, there are two metal prongs going down behind the main panel), you can see the nylon guide. With the window half up/down, wobble the top of the glass and check the slack at the guide. If thats it, much can be tightened by fitting a cable tie around the post and behind the bracket to the glass. Might take small hands getting in there, but avoids pulling the whole door panel.

Thanks everyone,
Tring to Dive in over the weekend. Too much action last night! I was going to order the rollers from 928Intl. Will wait until torn apart this weekend.

If your window rocks forward and back it's probably just the adjustment bolts. If it is, crank the window up and make sure it's properly seated in the channel and tighten the rear bolt. You'll have to crank the window part way down to get at the front one.
