Default Less Than Newbie in Boston

Hi Folks -

I'm aspiring to be a new 928 owner, but thought I would check to see if there were any of you in the Boston area. I've read a bit on the internet etc. over the years about this car, but actually SEEING one up close and TALKING to an owner would really help me get started.

Please let me know if any of you are in Boston and would be willing to meet up to show me the 928 basics before I start the shopping process.

Thanks,
GW

I've owned my '91 for seven years and I've been around the block (several times.) Logistics for me are presently problematic. However, I'm willing to try to meet.

Some of us are located in Boston (some of the time), whereas ALL of us are located here, (some of the time).

What are you looking for? You will find this community helpful, if not straightforward.......or is it the reverse......

Why not just go to a couple local Porsche events and see several cars?

Bet you can't buy just one!
There's a lot to know, and I seem to learn something new every week. I have found a good mechanic finally...ME!!! If you want something done right you have to do it yourself (with a little help from your friends). Anyway, good luck on your journey. Pick out a nice car.

Just click search at the top and a box will pop up. Enter Moon928 and click find. Threads with posts by Moon928 will appear, click on one and find his post. Then click by his name and a box will pop with an option to send him a pm (private mail).

Hope this helps!

Hi Folks -

This is just an update to let you know how my shark hunting is progressing.

step one. Hang out on Rennlist and meet 928 people... check.

step two. Stop looking at 928 ads and write one for my Jeep... check.

step three. Sell Jeep.... Here's my eBay auction (#4505716223). Please spread the word if you know any offroad types... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMESE%3AIT

step four. Get help from Rennlisters finding a 928. I'll be in touch when I get that Jeep sold.

Thanks all,

GW

Getting together with the 928 owners in your area, talking about the pros and cons, looking first hand at each prior to you purchase is a great idea. This type of interaction is priceless!

I think you are one of the smarter aspiring 928 owners I have seen in a while.

Good luck!

P.S. I hope your out of your diamond plate phase

Lucky me i work over the holidays...JFK tomorrow then
I'll be in Boston on Friday. Land at 1408 and to the hotel by about 1500. I stay at the Park Plaza downtown. 702-204-6086 is my cell. I leave kinda early on Sat but not early enough to grab a beer friday afternnon and talk 928s
In the meantime click my link below and you will find a page dedicated to a "Newbie" called.. "New 928 owner or looking for a 928"

Knowledge is power when it comes to buying these cars..what to look for is the biggest!
As you can see there are a few locals up there to help you out...and a weatlh of info on the net from current owners

...and Curtis - I don't think I will ever get the diamond plate out of my system. Don't we all still fondly remember our past loves? I doubt this will be my last Jeep. (But don't worry - I won't be putting 35" tires on my Porsche!)
