Hi Jim.
I believe it really boils down to liability in most instances. We have rebuilt a number of items for our own vehicles that we wouldn't sell due to potential litigation no matter how well the work is done.
Most insurance will drop garages who rebuild brake calipers or steering racks. Too many problems.

What medication are you on? I need some of the same. We have plenty of part-swappers here too. The official Porsche agency is a typical example or would be, except they charge twice as much to get it wrong.
