Default Distributor Cap Repair

When fixing the idler rollers over the weekend I found under the engine a peice of graphite or similar. I recognised it as half the peice on the end of the spring in the centre of the distributor cap. I've no idea how I managed to break it but with no spare distributor cap available I've had to glue it back together. I used epoxy resin although I would have used superglue if I'd had some. Amazingly the car seems to run fine although I'm sure the contact will eventually disintegrate. I wonder how long it will last...
