Andy I'm hoping my kit doesn't have these issues .... are all the shims included and are the parts correct, ie does the snout support I have, fit?
Too busy playing with your new shark? Or just waiting for me to fly down there and help you put it together?

Both. And Sharktoberfest and other things ... I was there for a week, Palm Springs and Disneyland with friends also. Actually I've been having a lot of fun driving the '85 lately too

Tony, re the broken bolt....FWIW, I had torque specs on the bracket mount bolts, I used them and broke a bolt anyway. I purchased another at the hardware store and it torqued down just fine. The torque specs for bolts of a certain size, thread and hardness had be had quite easily. My torque wrench came with a chart that is a nice cross check refernce.

Tony,

Any chance you could give us pictures and a description of the modified shroud?

Stock cooling fans with a modified shroud that allows the assembly to be removed in no more than 5 minutes. Removing the various oil and tranny cooler lilnes is no longer required. That one mod alone has saved me hours already!

I posted on it about 2 months ago. It works great. I have my shroud out in 2 minutes. No kidding.
2 bolts that hold it on...two fan wires and connectors out of the way...and the airpump hose bent back.
Up and out it comes.

The link details it better.
Two cautions.
1) be sure you secure your airpump hose to the inside of the engine bay as the edge of the shroud use to help hold it back. it WILL hit the fans if you dont. Becasue of this you may have to add appx 2-3 inches of extra hose to the end of the airpump hose so it reaches the filter in the shroud.

2) make sure the fan doesnt interfere with the oil cooler lines on the driver side on the plastic end tank.

A given and as always, watch your fingers on the metal tabs that secure the wiring as well as the possibility of the fans turning on if your working on it

HTH
