I agree. I am really interested, but no way to get to the west coast this week.. This could be the only car that could live up to the speed yellow car I have been dreaming of. You would really have to buy it our of love though, as it needs some major TLC.

Our "buddy" Todd has placed a bid on the car, so the probably too high price of 12k BIN is gone. I thought Todd said he would NEVER own anything but a GTS. I guess he's back in business.

The color is hard to describe....it is a soft yellow/gold color that is VERY Pearl. The list of option codes came off the tag in the trunk and I too thought that it would have had more of the leather codes. It does have the draped leather though and a very different center console w/pop out casette holders like what came in the 911's, and a molded section for the cell phone that is no longer there. The car came from FL and has only been in LA for about a year. I would have taken pic's but It was kind-of a last minute thing. I had spoken to Rick earlier in the day and he said he was going to be in Manhattan beach to have a friend take pictures for a guy in IN. that was interested in the car. He didn't call me back until 8pm and I ran out the door to make the one hour drive up to M-B and catch a look at the car.

Remember - if this is really the car I think it is - it was made for a major auto show. Who knows, if it ran through all the normal production processes and got all the proper codes. I don't even know, if Porsche Exclusive was fully established and organized with "X" codes at that time..

Look at the car, take it for what it's worth. It's unique, but in the current condition it's probably not worth 12 Grand. In my opinion, special cars are only worth a premium, if they are kept in immaculate condition. Once you let it slide, the value becomes pretty much equal to any other one of that type - becaue you'd have to invest a lot of time and money to make it special again.

Here is a summary of what I was able to find out:

Invoice date March 24, 1988

C02 USA Ausführung (US Version)
158 Radio Blaupunkt Reno SQR 46
195 Vorbereitung Cellular-Telefonsystem
418 Flankenschutzleisten (Side Mouldings)
513 Lordosenstütze rechter Sitz (Lumbar support, right seat)
570 verstärkte Kälteleistung (Klimaanlage) für heiße Länder (increased cooling (AC) for hot countries)
586 Lordosenstütze linker Sitz (Lumbar support, left seat)
650 Schiebedach (sunroof)

The Exclusive options were likely added after the production process, and at the time were not recorded on the options sticker.

Thanks Scott, but I'll be looking for a GT/GTS in silver metallic over grey.

Captain Earl has a really nice example of a silver/grey '91 GT. It has a salvage title, but apart from that it's as good as (or better than) new... I doubt he'd sell it, though.

Please someone rescue that canary yellow one!!!

Trust me, if I had the spare cash right now, it would be added to my growing fleet!

This is a sad day for me... I saw the pictures at http://www.cbl-productions.com/Porsche928S4.html

The car needs a lot of TLC and probably more. Hopefully someone can at least make sure it won't get any worse... it hurts to see that. Whoever had it must have not realized what he/she had.
