Question 32 V Engine Specs..?

Hi Everyone,

Can you confirm the 32V Head Combustion chamber volume in an S4, GT, and GTS?

I remember somewhere that it was about 42cc per combustion chamber...

I am also after the piston dish volume, and seem to recall 24cc, but I am not sure..

Can you guys confirm or deny..?

Thanks,

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the info..! Appreciate it much...

The car is coming along, even though slowly, making progress. Got the Intercoolers closer, and the mount brackets for the blower and the other assemblies ar goingt o be test fitted in Lexan and re indexed before I CNC the T-6. I will be reindexing the Lexan Thursday afternoon..

The difficult AN-Metric adapters has finally come in, so I should be able to finish the cooling an oil system before heading down to SOCAl for th Sharktoberfest.

I have decided to keep the LH for the street, and am trying to solve the MAF limitation. The fuel problem is solved, as is the revised Throttle body, and TPS issue. In actuality, once I solve the MAF issue, I will be 95% done with development, and it will be time to start machining aluminium pieces. I am hopeful to be at this point at the end of Oct., but, as you know, I was hopeful to be done for the Kansas Show, and nothing, due to unsolved technical issues..

Well, now I am really down to some small, but important details...!! Little ones always take time, as you know... Also working out some minor variations in the runner - intercooler joint for velocity and flow considerations....

In addition, I am researching some piston issues, and just spoke to MAHLE... Very interesting stuff...

Here's a tease... 6L with 8.5:1 static compression, GTS Cams, and 1.0bar on 91 Oct.pump Gas and 1.8+ on 100 Octane well, 1300+CFM, 968 Valves and .41 to .44 BSFC... As I said, just a tease..

Oh, I still have to get around to getting my brake caliper brackets made...

Oh well,

Since you are keeping the LH, what mods are you doing to it? Running a max psi of either 14.7 or 26.5 should tax it pretty good.

What MAF limitation are you referring to? The MAF will keep outputting voltage as CFM through-put increases. The limitation I see is with the LH not recognizing MAF voltage over a certain thresh hold.

Since you are using the LH, what is the 'TPS issue' you are having?

MAHLE is making the pistons for the 3 Green Bay 6.1L strokers.

How about a part number and a price or are they spec'd to each 3 individuals block?

I have a block and have a crank waiting for the next project to start.

Are they forged?

Paul,

The LH will stay in the street car, and a track thing will be put together with a TEC3 or Motec.

MAF issue...

1. Voltage rise as you know = ECU going to "limp home mode" over 5.6+Volts... So, I either have to reprogram the chip, or make some other adjustments. Tim will have the same issue above, and below, and I believe we are speaking to the same peron to solve it.

2. MAF will destruct faster if subjected to heat and pressure.. ALL blow through systems using hot wire MAF's will do this, even if the intake charge is subcooled BELOW Ambient, there is still the pressure thing to be concerned about. On pull through systems, I only have to solve #1....

TPS ISSUE.... I am using a different Throttle Body, and had to get a different TPS to work with it, as it opens in a different direction compared to the stock system... Just solved last week...

Still working on Spark, but I think I have it resolved for the higher pressures.

I will be building a 6 Liter after the testing of the current 5 Liter system. The 6 Liter should be built faster than the 5 Liter, as I will have done most of my testing with the 5 liter. MAHLE's Engineers were very helpful, and I will be only going to the first oversize, 100.5 after speaking with them, as I want to keep the stock cylinder towers etc.. Moldex or Scat will build the crank due to cost etc. Other areas of improvements are close to vest for now, but I think you can see where I am going..
