Formerly "Impromptu Get-Together in Southeastern Massachusetts"
Tuesday 9/21/04, at least five cars will show at the 99 Restaurant in Seekonk, MA.
We will meet at the 99 Restaurant in Seekonk at 6 PM. It's right off Rt. 195, exit 1 (Rt. 114A) in Seekonk.
We won't necessarily eat there, but it is an easy place to meet.
Post here if you want to make it a little later & we will make sure we don't leave without you.
If you haven't riden in a supercharged 928 before, bring your Depends.

I forgot to break out the camera until it was almost dark. Two guys were first timers to meet up with other 928ers- and one has been an owner 15 years and the other 7 years. Lots of good tech talk and good food.
Thanks to "Old and New" for getting it together. He gave the new guys each a s/c test ride (!!!!!!).

First ride in a supershark re-defines bwahhh! Thanks to old and new for putting this together and giving me the ride of smiles....of course encountering local law enforcement at triple digits under hard acceleration almost put a damper on things but thanks to "old & news" keen eye sight and good brakes, either we didn't disturb his slumber or he just knew he couldn't keep up .
Great bunch of guys that represent the 928 community well... I'll need to do some more detailing if I want to hang with these guys. Dave has probably the nicest 928 I've ever seen!
Thanks for a great experience and I look forward to doing it again

If I told you, I'd have to kill you.
John, you will just have to keep asking and find someone else for the numbers. I like my veil of secrecy.
Real world? Let's just say, "a bit faster than the SL55 AMG". I'm sure there is sufficient data on that vehicle to satisfy your thirst for knowledge.

On which part? Killing you? Yes, I was kidding about that.
Just use your imagination, man. 560 crank horses out through the 2.64 final drive ratio 5 speed. It breaks traction when accelerating through second gear even when the 255/40-17 tires are hot. 100 mph in under 10 seconds. I don't know how "real world" the G-Tech's numbers are, or whether they tell the whole story.
All I can say is that it's a hoot to drive, was easy to install, and anyone can order a kit from Tim Murphy at http://www.murf928.com/

Gretch, I didn't mean to exclude you, man; I just didn't know you would drive that far for a spur of the moment gig, and I don't have your contact info in my "Southern New England 928 Club" database! Forward to me & I will include you in my short-notice email distribution!

John,
Just because someone asks a question does not obligate anyone to answer it. You do what you do with some apparent commercial motivation, one that is not mine. If I get around to running performance tests, I will publish them...if I don't...maybe someone else will.......but none of us are obligated too....
I spent my money, I am very happy with the result....If you really want to know what the results are.....go buy a kit.
BTW, your engine picture is a work of art...........

I have no idea who is motivated by what ... I don't care ... but I want to see numbers. I think we all know this development is an excellent and butt-kicking one, so I for one would love to see numbers. DAMN 100 in 10 seconds is schhhhhhMOKING quick.

I think it is a fair question, totally. You don't live on the dyno, do you? With all that money and power, someone must have a G-Tech and 15 minutes of spare time.
Gretch...I just want to see on the pavement performance numbers. Andy and Carl have put up performance numbers....with all these setups someone somewhere must have run some performance tests on the car. Carl even has a video now to document the performance. Personally I would not part with that much cash without some measurable performance numbers. I'm glad you are happy and I am sure it is a good ride.
The G-Tech is VERY accurate in its time measurement....more so than any stopwatch and hand method you could devise. It traditionally measures high MPH in the 1/4 mile, but the time is spot on. It is a simple double integration of the accelleration to get to position and a single integration to get the speed. With all that power and the talk going on I would expect a <4.5 second 0-60 and low 12 second 1/4 mile at like 118 MPH. It should be easy to measure guys.
So who will do the measuring for us?
