Took Heidi to the track yesterday in Spokane. Had a great time with lots of full throttle runs down the mile long front straight. Car ran smooth with little issues, other than my obviously small brakes. Last April my brakes were good enough for 6 or 7 hard runs around the track before noticing any fade. This time I was doing good to get three or four laps before needing to pit to cool my brakes. At the start of the day I was making up to ten to twelve psi on the track, then as the day went on the belt seated in I guess and was running a consistant 8psi, which was good for an effortless 150mph on the front straight. The car also throttle steered with easy on some of the tighter corners, and took some effort not to over accelerate and spin out. Gave lots of rides to other shark owners, must have done ok as they were walking away with big grins on their faces.
All day running this car and I didn't use one drop of oil, not even out of the crank case breather, kept checking it with my finger and nothing, not even a light film.
Thanks to Chris Ford for organizing the track day again and for his tasty bbq the night before.
Here is my one good pic of the day. It is Tahoe Shark (Tim Dey) and Garth Hadley running together on the back side of the track. Those GTS's are really impressive on the track. Both are running GT cams in their GTS engines, they also make quite a nice roar going down the front straight.
Awsome news Shane!
From your VM it sounded like you had lots of fun.
What size tires are you running in the rear?
Were you getting good traction in your 1/4th and 0-60 runs?
12.5 is very impressive and I bet you would gain 3 thenths with some very sticky tires and low tire pressure. You've knocked 2.2 seconds off your 1/4 mi time. That is equal to adding 220whp yet you have only added 150. This is my favortie thing about using the twin-screw or roots The car accelerates as if you have added a higher peak hp# because it adds so much power down low.
I would like to see as many pics of your install as possible and from the track too.

17"x9" with Kumho 712s. Yes was getting good traction as I was coming around hot after two laps on the track and stopping in the starting section for the 1/4 mile boxes. These time are using your G-Tech. Have plenty of pics!!
Shane, are you running a Euro TB and Limited slip on that one??
4.6 and 12.4! Great numbers. Nice to know you got close to my goal with little effort.! Bolt up and go! I think those of us that have Andys kits are going to have our own little bragging contest amongst ourselves here soon.
Shane,
Great numbers!
How'd you do at the track, or, was this just a shake down?
I'm looking for a 86.5 in good condition with the whipple twin screw installed and sorted out...For Free...anyone...anyone?
Tony: Stock throttle body and no limited slip. I'm waiting for you guys to get them bolted on and going. No more excuses get out there and start getting it done.
John: If my wife had her way, she would be giving Heidi away as well as Helmut. You know get rid of the competition.
Shane,
Those are great G-Tech numbers on street tires AND with no LSD! Nice job on getting the car up and running. It makes it easier to make the leap to forced induction as we hear more success stories.
