Default Tensioner poll

How many know their tensioner is low on oil? [edit, and drive with it that way end edit] I have about 2200 miles on my belt and rebuilt tensioner, checked belt tension and the oil in tensioner. Belt was in the window. No previous belt warning lights. Topped it off, it took several (6?) pulls on the the oil can trigger. Reassembled, drove, next morning 6" diameter puddle on floor. I'm guessing it is half full, and probably was just returning to the level, it must have been at since rebuilding. Oh, when I rebuilt it, there was less than half in it. I know the answer is take it off, new gasket with more sealer.

Maybe. Maybe not. Depends upon where it's leaking from. Could be a loose or about-to-break bleeder valve. See if you can figure out from where the oil's coming.

My tensioners have always drained, EXCEPT when I've done the job. At that point they never leak again. I use sealer on the gasket. Most don't.
