Thad / Ken - Hah! I never noticed it was backwards!

Thanks for the reversed gif Ken - I've changed my sig to use that one.

Good points Steve - the hood insulation is for sound and heat 'attenuation', not reflection back into the engine compartment.

Buy it at Lowes for $25.00.

Im sure it looks good and it really sets off the engine bay but why insulate your hood?
You want the heat OUT of the engine bay, not kept in it. If your worried about the heat damaging the paint, uh, the inside of the engine bay is painted with the same paint as the outside and its OK, as is the paint around the "foamed" area on the underside.

I would leave mine bare if i could, but getting a nice look after you get the glue and crap off is impossible. When the time coems here int he next week i will use the stock stuff again or a similar type foam product.

Tony - the rough side of the Armaflex would look great with your black supercharger. The Armaflex looks blacker than the oem foam (which is kind of dark greyish black). This shows the difference with the smooth side out or the rough side out. Smooth side may be easier to wipe off, but it also shows nicks or fingerprints more. Since the foam is closed-cell, it's not going to act like a sponge with the rough side out. And it's more attractive.
