Cigarette Lighter Repair
Anyone have a good fix for an inop. Cigarette Lighter. Have no idea what is wrong with it. This my final fix to make the car perfect and all systems working correctly! Just want it for Radar Detector, Playstatiion, Refrigerator, Guitar Amp, Portable GPS, and Sex Toys... No smokers allowed.
Thanks,
Ron

Rixster,
Do you mean a spare Cigarette lighter? Sure, please send. I can pm you my FedEx account to ship free of charge. I can pay you for it if needed. Looks like my Color won the poll for the guy painting his 928. Dark Blue metallic Boxster color won. Sent him some pictures.
Thanks,
Ron

I had one of those for a while, pulled the ashtray out and reconnected the ground wires and not only got my lighter working but also the light that is down there too.

Rob Roy,
You won't be sorry. I knew you'd like the color. Mine gets countless reamarks. Use the 2000 Boxster color so it has the Porsche look and not some Geo Metro Blue crap.
Rixster,
I'll contact you after the weekend. No time due to kids. Thanks...

It should be a simple matter of verifying voltage to the unit using a voltage meter, right?
What am I missing here. Sure seems like a straight forward troubleshoot and repair.
Re. new lighter elements (the part that heats up) - I've purchased the exact size (low profile euro style) at Pep Boys for a few bucks.
