Rob Roy,
What Drewster said. I know...Decisions, decisions. Personally, I'm a real stickler about repainting.
IMHO, the ONLY option is the original, factory color. There are rare circumstances when I would choose
to do otherwise...remember the hot pink wide-body 928 with spiderman features? That is a MUST REPAINT situation.

Does anyone here know if there were ever any PINK "Mary Kay Cosmetics" 928s commissioned and purchased for VERY successful sales reps? Inquiring minds want to know....

why go for factory original colours when there are so many of them anyway? repainting is the perfect opportunity to expand the 928 colour spectrum and create something unique.

i also like lime green as per the lamborghini murcielago - bright colours do get noticed a lot more.

drnick,

interesting you have come up with the lime green from the murcielago - that is the color that Olivier from Jacquemond thought would look best - and, coincidentally, the color my wife is now suggesting. This is not going to be a factory standard car, so while I will consider factory colors, I don't think I want to be limited by them

Rob,

You asked about paint quality earlier. This is a very overlooked subject. I would recommend you find someone that shoots either Sikkens or Glasurit paints. Both OEM to Porsche and BMW over the years. PPG has a tendency to be a very brittle paint. Both new Ferrari's and Maserati's use PPG. I can tell you from experience that brittle is a correct adjective.

Have the shop do a series of sprayouts for you before you decide your final color, this will help you visualize the colors next to each other.

Good luck.

Stephen

I'll probably be going with the deep metallic blue - 1st set of color chips should come in from House of Kolor Monday so that I can start getting a better feel for how some of the colors look. That being said, there are probably an infinite number of combiniations and finishes. Decisions, decisions.
