Question "Y" connector for charcoal filter...where is it?

Occasionally I get either an oil or gas smell in the cabin. It kind of comes & goes. I recall a post or two attributing this to a broken plastic "Y" connector near a charcoal filter, I believe.
Where would I find this, and is it visible from the engine bay.....or is it buried behind a cover, shroud, etc.?
Thanks,

Right, upper front fender. You have to remove the wheel and the liner.

I have custom-made stainless steel replacements for the plastic connector. $20 + shipping.

Thanks Ed. I certainly wasn't expecting it, but a picture says a thousand words.
