My 88s4 has been sitting out in a continuous rain all day. The alarm has activated 3 times for no apparent reason. This has never happened before and it hasn't ever sat out in the rain before. Is there a logical connection or am I just all wet? ha ha

2 possibilities:

(1) The water is shortingsomething out and triggering the alarm.
(2) Your alarm has a motion sensor and it's raining REALLY hard.

is the floorboard wet? your rain drip may be clogged, eng comp pass side in the corner by the firewall

Your car is alerting you that she doesn't like to get wet.

look for a wet pin switch under the hood or near the door, maybe the moisture is grounding it out prematurely. Then use some vasoline on it to keep the water out.

Thanks for the tips. Now I just have to wait a year or so for another rain like that so I can check them out.
