Windshield washer pump location

Windshield washer pump location
I am getting conflicting opinions on the location of the windshield washer pump. One person told me it is under the resevoir and filler neck under the hood ( couldnt see one) and the parts place told me it is in the fender accessable by removal of the wheel liner. Wasnt comfortable with parts guys call because he first led me to the intensive washer pump. Anyway the pump is ordered and I would like to get it in next week. Any help is appreciated. 90 928 S4

There are 3 pumps. 2 attached to the reservoir behind the passenger fender, one for headlights and one for the windshield. you need to remove the reservoir to get the pump out. Not a hard job with the car on a jackstand and the wheel off. the third pump is in the intensity wash reservoir at the firewall on the drivers side. Here is a picture of the washer reservoir.

I see there is yet another difference between the old and new.
The 82' has a high intensity reservior under the hood , slightly to the left -facing rear- of the hood latch point. It's held in place by a two screw strap to the lip area under the hood. The pump for this reservior is under the lip and held in place by two screws which anchor to two slotted ears on the pump.
The big reservior is located like the late models behind the aft pass. wheelwell splash guard.
I learn something new each day, will probably come in handy if I ever buy a S4.
