Hello fellow Rennlisters. While browsing the 968s on eBay, I happened upon this gem of a 928. I thought I would pass it along to you guys, if for nothing else, your viewing pleasure.

Expounding on your statement about one for each personality: since each car is significantly different in terms of its state of tune, you are right, I do pick and choose depending on my mood. The S2 is stock, except for chips, and should be making around 225 HP. The 968 is also stock, but is a bit stiffer and more refined, and makes around 236 HP. The Turbo S is stock except for chips, and should be good for 300 HP. Also, it is a good bit firmer than the 968. Finally, the "Ian Special," currently dialed in at 17 psi with a safe A/F ratio is making around 400 HP at the crank. Also, it has 550-lb Leda Coilovers and racing seats, so, it is quite stiff! You really feel "plugged in" while driving that one!

 

Dang! I still haven't won the lottery! Oh, thank god it is a 5-speed, and not slate blue with blue interior. Otherwise I could not sleep tonight...

 

Do you prefer automatics, Nicole? I am glad that it wasn't slate blue with a blue interior, too. I would have felt terrible if I would have been responsible for your bout of insomnia. In reality, I wouldn't have been the direct reason for your lack of sleep. That lovely, pristine 928 S would have been guilty as charged!

 

Yep - my beast is always looking for an older sister. But like most kids she does not understand the economics involved, and would likely be jealous because of the divided attention...

 

I'm sure that my ladies don't care too much for the divided attention, either; in fact, the 968 demanded yesterday that I sell the other three, and summarily refused to crank! I made her a deal. I told her that if I was willing to keep all of them in tip-top condition, they should be willing to share me. I also added that while I'm driving the others, she gets to play garage queen for a longer period of time. She perked up at that, and believe it or not, cranked right up without my even turning the key. Sorry, bad 3 a.m. joke...got a little carried away. It's past time for bed, as you can tell.
