Angry Car Hauler 1- Front Spoiler 0

So my car gets hauled from PA ($300, and they took great pains to load the car without scratching up the spoiler, according to the friend I had in PA keeping an eye on this) Car hauler parks in front of the house, car looks great. The helper unchains the rear end while I am settling up the bill with the driver....... The helper pulls the truck forward, and CRRRAAAACCCCCK, the car jumps forward and the spoiler catches a piece of metal on the hauler and tears completely off! Thank goodness it did catch because otherwise the front end of the car would have been in the cab.

ARRRGGGHHHHHH

450 + miles only to get crunched in front of my house! I wanted to cry, having just watched it happen in slow motion.

Lesson--> Take the spoiler off before you haul it. Mine was brand new from 928 Spec. and never even saw the road. Bummer.

(I'll post a pic later today, once I figure out how the hell to pay up my membership dues...someone please help)

Shawn;

I have a fairly decent used on for $150.

If your in PGH, I'm only about 2 hours away, come on down and I install it for you.

I repaired mine for 3 years finally got a deal from Devek.
Litterally, took it out of the box 2 hours ago to soften in the Texas sun.
Deb at Devek sent it to me 3 or 4 months ago but when my son, Zack, managed
to get Snowball the white 81' run over by the truck he was passing a bit of money,
a pint or so of blood and a whole lot of time when down the tubes -sniff, boo-hoo,
there went the SC for the Weissach-.
Shawn,
From PA to where?
Is the sHARk broken ? Why didn't you drive ? Serious documented excuses only!
Take Scott up on that used spoiler offer, a little foam tire cleaner and it'll look brand new.
Besides with his collection and your sHARk you two can have your own Frenzy.
If I can break away to visit my mom up in Oil City this fall I might try to look you guy's up.
I hope you at least tried to haggle with the tow operator ... Bummer either way, my sympathy's.

How badly damaged is the spoiler? If it only ("only " he says - sorry!) the mounting tabs/holes are damaged, it may be fairly easy to reattach with some aluminium strips, new holes, etc. If it is in 10 pieces, my condolances - but if in one, there may be a good chance to salvage it.

Actually, I need to update my info. I moved to N. Carolina a few months ago, and the 928 was kinda late in making it down here. The transmission was out and awaiting a torque tube (and other) replacement, so a nice drive thru W.Va was out of the question.

I am not sure what I am going to do, so Scott I will keep you in mind, and may send you a PM soon and talk about shipping costs for that beast. I remember SO fondly the fun involved in putting that thing on.

Thanks.
Shawn
