Klim The CIS stands for Continuous Injection System . Very simply stated ,The injector is much like a garden hose nozzle and it sprays fuel into the intake all the time open valves closed valves it cares not , it sprays all the time. The amount of fuel is regulated two ways ,Air being pulled into the engine moves a metal disc up and down depending on volume. It in turn moves up and down a metering rod inside the fuel distributor exposing more of a slot allowing more fuel to flow to the injector. In addition ,the control pressure regulator (warm up regulator) mounted on the thermostat housing adjusts the fuel mixture by changing the fuel pressure pushing on the metering rod . So when cold the engine gets rich more fuel or accelerating the vacum adds fuel. Tuning CIS requires using two fuel pressure gauges to measure the system pressure and control pressure. I would agree that going back to CIS should be the best way to really fix the car. Carl has made you a very generous offer and yes we should have everything else you would need. Be aware that it will need tuning and is probably not just plug and play.
