That isn't the video that I was referring to. It was a black 928 and a much older VW. The VW in the other video blew the 928 off way worse. Think superbike vs. moped and you get the general idea.

I agree.
Looks to me like the 928 driver was outdone.
The VW gets a good snap off the line, looks very smooth in his power delivery and keeps his foot in it until the bitter end.
The 928 appears to get beaten off the line, chuffs his tires between 1st and 2nd (probably where the VW pulls away) and then looks to give up before the end of the course.
It has as much to do with the driver as it does the car.
If you watch it repetitively, the VW looks like it was driven well. Switch drivers and cars and I bet the results may have been much different.
