Ford Fuel Injectors

Ford Fuel Injectors
My '88 S4 with 112K on it has been idling rough and developed a slight stumble upon acceleration. I've run a few bottles of injector cleaner through but it hasn't seemed to help much. I was going to have the injectors cleaned but at the cost of the Ford injectors I'm thinking of just going with those. Someone mentioned that with those it runs a bit rich at idle. Is this true? If so am I going to have problems passing emissions tests?
As I understand it the 19# injectors are the ones to get and I'll need the spacers and o-rings from the old injectors (if I can get them off). Correct?

Andy,
It dosen't seem to me that the Ford 19# injectors would run rich at idle. I use the FMS 30# on my supercharged S4 and even they aren't too bad.

I have installed the Ford 19# on my Euro MY87 928S4 (No O2 sensor) it ran fine.. You will need the O-rings and they fit just fine. The Ford injectors could be had for around $200/set of 8. Good upgrade.

the spacers don't really matter, but are you really going to use 16 year old seals?

I bought brand new seals specifically for the ford mustang, and I have not had any problems getting the injectors to mate to the fuel rail. Why do people suggest using the old seals?

Andy- How much are the Ford injectors? There's a guy in Michigan who rebuilt/flowed mine last year, and he charged me $16 each to do it! He's not a Rennlist sponsor as far as I know, so PM me and I'll give you his name.
A great source of information on injectors is Rich at Cruizinperformance. He's in Michigan, but I don't have his phone number.

SilverSFR,
It changed from year to year.
85-86 US = 24# high impedance
S4 = 19# high impedance
up to 84 US = low impedance. I can't remember the #/hr but they are pretty big.
