Hi. Has anyone used a claybar on their wheels. I have cup ones with some crud on them that wont come off with the usual wash method. Thankyou for any replies.Mike.

No, haven't tried - but suspect that it would be a quick way to expend a $$ clay bar: much of the crap picked up by wheels is asphalt/tar based, with a liberal shot of brake dust. Cheapo paint thinner/mineral spirits/varosol on a rag does wonders: follow with hot water, soap and one of those plastic mesh pot scrubbers that can be smuggled out of the kitchen! Thanks Garth S. Wouldn't the varsol cloud up the clearcoat somewhat? I'm quite paranoid in using it. These wheels are vitually brand new. I have some paint overspray on the one side from god knows where! BTW no need to smuggle anything out of the kitchen ! I AM MR. MOM! Regards Mike.

Have used varosol/mineral sporits on a rag 'forever' to remove road tar from fenders, doors, wheels, .. - no problems with the clear coat/paint - but it will remove the wax: just rinse off w. soapy water. If concerned, always do a test spot trial - on your neighbours car.
