Dried wax + rain = HELP!!!
Was away the past couple days, but did attack the car over the weekend.
1. Washed again with the "right" Dawn (stuff I was using was apparently Palmalove). No wax left at all. No sheeting, no beading...nothing but water staying on the car.
2. Hit it with rubbing compound. Worked wonders on other areas with slight haziness - no effect on the hood (where all the water spots are).
3. Then the Clay Bar - again, helped the rest of the car, but just made the hood smooth.
4. Went at it with Mothers Cleaning Wax. This brought up the shine on the rest of the car very well. The paint looks new - still no effect on the hood!
5. Started getting mad! Noticed I could literally scrap the haze/water spots away with my fingernail, but nothing I did would remove it. Went a bit crazy and started scrubing the hood with pure rubbing alcohol and a plastic pot scrubber - plastic SOS pad, if you will (yes, I really did). Even that only mildly made a difference.
6. Booked a time at the Shine Factory for today. Will report back with results when they are finished.

I hope whatever you do works, I'll try it next.
