Question PSD fluid foaming

Took PSD system out from rear fender for general cleanup and check. When dismantling those lines that are under pressure, yellowish foamy fluid came out with unexpected pressure. Looked like someone had put in champagne instead of brake fluid. Brake fluid in expansion tank was light yellow also. Last time car was run was back in June 2002 or earlier. Don't know exactly when. Can PSD system hold pressure that long? When line is removed under pressure. In what form fluid comes out, as solid liquid or foam like? Just wondering if all is well in the system. There's no way of testing it until rest of car is up to it. Meaning not in several years at this rate. Unless it's temporarily installed to other 928. Would like to skip that if foam is normal. Other than that, it looked good inside. Only little white goo in filter under motor.

This white paper may be of help. Anyone with PSD should download it and read it. Most shops don't know about PSD ... or even where to find it! So 928 owners should have their system flushed every 2 years!

Vilhuer,

The car does not have to be running to do the flush. Use jumper wires from a spare battery.
Probably a good idea to do it now if the car won't be running for a while.
