Default Opinions About Side Markers?

I have 93 GTS..grand prix white...I will be taking off front bumper to paint...I saw Joakim's white indicators...I asked him about front sidemarkers--he doesn't make any...how do you think changing to white indicators but leaving yellow/orange sidemarkers will look? Opinions wanted..thanks

Here is how it looks on red. I think it would be better to delete the side markers. Also, it is very easy to change the signal indicators if you don't like the look.

My favored solution would be to lose the side markers alltogether. But that requires some serious repainting...

Paintable blanks would be nice.

As purchased/today:

I had to make mine from sanded/filled used side markers.

This is what it looks like with both front and rears removed, covered, and repainted. The small turn signals just past the front wheel well were there as part of the change. I changed the rectangular orange lights to clear and more modern looking signals.

Oscar M,

That looks very nice:

How large of a hole was needed for the wiring to the side turn signals?
...

I would like to see someone make a 'no-drill' side marker using some sort of inductive power transfer through the fender...

The holes behind the markers on my federalized Euro were about 1.5" across and there were two screw holes. The holes accomodated the back of the markers which contain the bulbs. On my car these corroded both front and rear. Interesting as the fenders are aluminum but the paint bubbled there as well.

The side marker wiring should be already in there. It's put in in case the chassis is African or European. I mean American or European. Or whatever...

I filled my federalizing markers and went back to just the Euro markers. They don't work. Apparently the wiring to the sides was cut somewhere and I still haven't fixed it. That'd be item number 27 on the To Do list. (Or whatever...)

I'd be tempted to just remove all the markers and not put in the one behind the fender. It would be just as illegal that way. With headlights on people will know you're there.

Porken,

The holes were about an inch on each side. It was a little tough finding a light that would work without having to drill additional mounting holes. The car was originally a California car which was exported to Japan and later shipped back to California. I picked it up at that point. The front and rear turn signals were gone as well as the rear bumpers. There was also a catalytic converter temp sensor and light installed to apparently to comply with Japan's DOT.

The "quick and dirty" method I used to hide the "fed" lights: cheap black spray paint. Hides the silly lights until I get the car painted and the holes filled.

N!

I didn't think mine worked either - I thought they were like the F/R side markers.
They only 'blink' with the turn signals!
