I'm planning on attending. If my wife doesn't go i'll have an open right seat in my S4. I don't drive slow but not an idiot either.

Regards,

Great the more people the better , the " event " is really the people you meet , see again , plus seeing rows of 928s of every flavor . The information and tech sessions are a lot of fun . There will be a driving opportunity on Saturday afternoon , a two hour tour of some interesting Southern California roads . The Peterson Museum site for Sunday is quite a nice display of a wide variety of interesting and some unique autos . Peterson is THE Peterson of auto magazine publishing fame ; Hotrod etc. and they often borrow vehicles from various collections for display . I was there several weeks ago for the Barret-Jackson auction but spent more time exploring the Museum They had a great display French Curves showing many 1930s handbuilt special French cars ...Bugatti , 'De Halye" and names I have never seen before .. I am not sure what they will be featuring Oct 24 th ; in addition to the 928 !!

The current Petersen exhibit, including the French Curves theme, continues through the end of the year. The collection of cars includes the Bugati and the Delahaye cars, as Jim mentions, plus plenty more. For our event, visitors will have the most unique opportunity to visit the 'vault'. This is the area where not-on-display and other donated/loaned/whatever special vehicles and items are kept when not on display. Keith and Dan have negotiated a great program with the Petersen for this private tour. You will not be disappointed.

Everyone got their calendars marked?

Bob/Keith - you might also want to post this event to the Rennlist Calendar - accessible along the top tool bar of the forum.

De-topping for now. Post a follow-up in this thread a couple weeks before the event and I'll re-top it then.

Thanks Randy, you have done more than we can ask for. We will be following up with another message or so before the event.

Fun run ..... If all goes as planned I will try to check out several roads this weekend and next as potential routes for the afternoon tour from 928 International on the 23 rd Oct . Somehow I see 928s in a pack 5 lanes wide , 20 cars deep ...where is the channel 11 Newscopter ? Maybe a video from an overpass capturing the moment then off into the hills . I am really looking forward to the Sharktoberfest this year . I just sampled the BBQ , smoked turkey breast from Blake's Place they will be catering our free customer appreciation lunch on Saturday Oct 23 rd. , as always it was very good .

Dang Jim, Dan said you had a few roads in mind, but the "Fly-by 928 formation" sounds interesting! Maybe we can find an airpoirt near by and reserve a runway

Tim D is/was a flying producer for Fox IIRC. Maybe we can make the evening news... If he'd rather fly than drive that is.[/SIZE]
