I picked up a 9201 belt tension tool and calibration bar on eBay but it doesn't include a calibration procedure. The WSM gives directions for use but not calibration. How do you calibrate one of these?

Yeah, me too. I bought the tensioning tool years ago, but I've never figured out what use the $30 calibration bar was w/o any calibration instructions. I guess it must be intuitive. However, although I'm half Swiss and half Norwegian, I seem to be missing that particular Germanic gene.
I've been told that the calibration procedures are in the 944 manuals. Can anyone confirm?

Just set bar like in picture 8 and slide moving paddle up until pin locks through paddle. Then adjust dial to 4 by rotating gauge face. Check if rotating paddles around 180 degrees has any effect on calibration. If they have, mark them and only use one side to get constant reading. Think that's it.

I saw that on Ebay, thought about it, and waited too long to make a decision . You got a great deal on it.

I would never pay $634 (+$30 for the calibration bar) for a new one as the $59 JK tool is perfectly adequate for the job. But the 9201 will be useful for checking the alternator belt as well. I knew somebody was gonna grab this if I didn't!
