Question Anyone put a kickdown switch on the dead pedal?

Just read a short one line suggestion somewhere about extending the kickdown switch over to a push switch on the dead pedal, instead of the usual spot
next to the parking brake lever.

Sounds reasonable I guess. Anyone here mount it that way?

Thx..... Jay

(For us OLD FARTS on the list...) Just like the old hdlight HI/LO switch! I don't see why it wouldn't work - wired in parallel. Press on...Press off.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, just like the old headlight dimmers. I may try it and see how that works rather than a regular on/off toggle.

I put mine there. Removed dead pedal, lift rubber cover at top, drill hole, fitted an intermittent switch, wired, replaced. Works great, just tap top of pedal/footrest, down it goes - as long as you have enough throttle in it to trigger. Normal curve up of shoe stops it from happening accidentally.

We don't see much of those 'Arabian Nights' style of shoe here in Oz...

Yup, used the old-fashioned headlight dimmer switch mounted on the dead-pedal. Placed it quite high up so that I have to "reach" for it, so I don't get it by accident when I'm just scaring the bee-jeesus outa myself with regular driving!

Maybe up north you dont, Troppo. You never know what you might see south of the border.
In my experience the ball of most shoes is convex.
