Question Function of Center Vent Microswitch

I searched the archives and the WSM, and I am still unclear exactly what is the function of the microswitch behind the center vent. It engages when the vent is fully closed. What does this cause to happen?

Thanks as always.

Your lucky it's broken on your car. That's the ultra rare driver's side ejector seat. It doesn't work so well with the size sun-roof these cars have. If you don't even have a sun-roof, pull the relay just in case.

Works much better on the 944's.

Hacker.... the PO disconnected the ejector seat from the center vent and re-wired it to the kickdown switch to take care of valet parking guys that abused the privilege of driving the 928......
