wow. a rocket with a k&n air filter....

RejeX on natural bare aluminum - the housing looks fairly clean from the pic. what are you currently CLEANING it with?

is the surface machined smooth, or does it have a 'cast' texture?

is the goal to prevent staining, or are you trying to get a shine?

the reason why i'm asking is the surface texture will affect your result. only surfaces with a fair amount of shine-potential will show off RejeX's beautification properties.

if you're looking for the protection from staining from corrosive contaminants, then i'd use one of our other products - CorrosionX. it too will leave a protectant layer, but it will work better for you and it's easier to apply (aerosol). simply wash the unit as you normally would, then after you rinse it, spray a LIGHT mist of CorrosionX on it. you'll see the water film get pushed around by the CorrosionX. plus, it will get into tiny places where the staining and corrosion start. i have a '63 corvette coupe with a rochester mechanical fuel injection unit (aluminum plenum & intake). i wash the engine with simple green, then spray a light mist of CorrosionX on it to keep the fumes and other nasty stuff from sticking to it and creating a stain.

call me so we can discuss your specifics.

thanks,

barry

I've spent more money on lesser products. I have a shelf in the garage to prove it. This product coming from a Rennlist sponser with the 996 people singing it's praise is good enough for me. I'll take a bottle. It's Sunday & i'll call and order it tomorrow. Thanks Barry

Barry,

OK, given what I've read on the 996 thread and on this one, I'm now interested too...the price is right too

Please don't think I'm trying to be a smarta$$ or anything but how "toxic" is this stuff? Has any testing been performed to address these types of questions? If it has been considered for military contract, I imagine the answer to the latter question is "yes". Is it a carcinogen (lots of things are, I know)? Should gloves (or a mask) be worn when applying it? Meanwhile, I'll do my homework by checking out your product website.

Cheers, thanks, and welcome to Rennlist!

Best,
Tim

according to the MSDS link on my website, there's nothing in RejeX which is considered hazardous, toxic or carcinogenic. it's also non-flammable in any sort of ordinary use or condition. it has petroleum distillates, but in a very small % quantity. and, it produces no fumes or irritating oders.

from personal experience, applying it in a closed garage with a buffer produces no eye or breathing irritation, even without a mask, gloves or ventilation. if you were to get some in your eye, the MSDS says to flush with water. if you get some in your mouth, spit it out and rinse your mouth out with water.

please let me know if you have more specific questions. if you've found that you are sensitive to certain products, i'll be happy to get you more detailed information.

thanks,

barry

Barry,
Many thanks....after posting my question, I downloaded the Material Data Safety Sheet (MSDS) from the product site. Here's the link for others who may be interested:

cool, thanks!

i was going to inser the link, but i also noticed the link has a typo and i've contacted the developer to correct it. therefore, the link may not work by the end of the day. for some reason, the link has the letters "HD" in it. it'll get fixed today or tomorrow.

but, for those of you would like to know the navigation otherwise, go to my site

www.x-autoproducts.com

and you can either click on the word 'RejeX' on the product bar at the bottom of the home page, or you can click on 'Product Information' on the menu toolbar, then click on the RejeX logo. the MSDS is on the left, about half-way down the page.

going to the 'Product Information' page will show you other products we sell, including 4-post lifts for your garage.

please call or post if you have any questions.

GOTCHA! In this case it is kinda irrevelant, tho. This kind of 'Corporate Marketing Hype' is EVERYWHERE. The one that gets me the most (having been in the medical biz for 20+ years) is when I hear on a commercial that something is "FDA APPROVED"...THE FDA DOESN'T "APPROVE" ANYTHING! THey only "CLEAR" the product for sale.

Gotha???
I have no agenda outside of honest advertising on the board. "Corporate Marketing Hype" is everywhere doesn't mean it is right or should be encouraged.

If someone makes a vague claim, don't I have the right to clarify it?
Barry posted the promo info, I simply asked a question. If he claimed it was used by several race teams wouldn't a member ask which ones?

Just because someone becomes a site sponsor doesn't mean we need to bow down and open up our wallets. I could be wrong, but being a site sponsor is not an accreditation of the quality or service provided, just the ability to advertise.

If the product is good, word of mouth will sell it (ie the 10+pages on the 996 board). So there is no need to tell half truths about its use on "military aircraft".

At this point I've done a fair amount of research on both products and I'm keeping my mouth shut. To your point - I'll give him a chance.

I do give you credit, you were more then willing to try the product before you even knew about the "ooohing" in 996 land.

You can have the last word if you want it. I think we both have better things to do.

Perhaps I'm not thinking straight yet but, I'm confused by the above. If your research uncovered information which might be of use why would you not give us a peek? If it's simply to avoid the PITA moniker then I submit that there are ways to ask questions that don't push people's buttons.

On the 996 thread many questions are answered by someone who works for the manufacturing company rather than by a distributor who can only answer questions within a specific context. Why don't you engage the manufacturer's (unofficial) representative making appearances on that thread?

wow,

what a difference in the thread in only a few short hours.

please, allow me to answer what can, and offer an off-line follow-up to what i ever i can't immediately answer.

first, as far as any marketing hype is concerned, if you are not happy with RejeX, please notify me and you will get a 100% refund. this is for RejeX purchased from me, used or not. the factory has the same refund policy so if you bought yours from CorrosionX.com, then contact them if you're not completely satisfied. the RejeX bottle also mentions the refund policy.

marketing hype - i agree, there's a ton of misleading advertising. but, i'm standing here telling you what you need to know to make a reasonable purchase decision, and lots of other members and freely expressing their opinion based upon their own experience. at some point, the word 'hype' should fall by the wayside due to the tremendous volume of favorable posts. plus, as the bottle says, "If you're not convinced it does everything we say, we will give you your money back... NO IFs, ANDs or BUTs".

oh, btw, one of our products IS used copiously by one of the leading and most recognizable race teams in the country. but, i can't tell you who, even if you ask... sorry.

as for the post about the thread on the 996 board having someone from the factory answering questions, my good friend (j.d. hill who is employed by the factory) was posting those responses. he has a lot of good information and i welcome his input. when i can't answer a question, i consult him, and post the answer here.

the only reason why i'm doing the group buy on rennlist is because a lot of members were asking him for a discount, and he wasn't able to do one in mass like i'm doing. my company, X-Auto Products, is a factory-authorized distributor to the automotive market. j.d.'s market is to the marine and boat people market. i don't sell to boat people, and j.d. doesn't sell to car people. the owner of the company wants it that way.

so, please feel free to ask me any question you have about any aspect of RejeX. i'll get you the straight answer, and will consult the factory if i don't already know it.

now, on to the GROUP BUY!!!!!

REJEX - RENNLIST DISCOUNT - $16.09 PLUS $2 SHIPPING TO ANY ADDRESS!!

thanks,
