I was thinking about retrofitting those ball sockets. I have to fight with an clamp joint every time I change out.

Those boom tubes could be just the ticket for a proper side exit.

This one would worked for me (and only $139):

I'm taking the current side exit off. It's too loud, even with the fancy sound shaping I tried. OK for a weekend drive, but not neighbor friendly.
