GO GET THE CAR AND DRIVE IT HOME. GO GET THE CAR AND DRIVE IT HOME. GO GET THE CAR AND DRIVE IT HOME.
Need I say it again?
Seven years ago I flew to Denver to take delivery of my '89. My first 928. I forced myself to drive it all the way home from there. Can't say enough about the car or the drive. Starting just short of noon, cruised west on I-70 through the Colorado rockies, continued on into Utah and holed up for the night in Beaver, half an hour south of the 70/15 junction. Got a real early start the next morning, south on I-15 and a Mc-Break in St George, then a full-tilt blast through the Virgin River Gorge on 15, through that little corner of Arizona there. No patrol in that isolated spot early in the morning. Continued for a stop in LV for early lunch, then cruise on home with early afternoon arrival. You'll be able to scrub the bugs off the front of the car in an hour, but it will take at least a week to get the smile scrubbed off your face. Trust Me.
Have the seller meet you at the airport, drop him off at his house on the way home. This trip is exactly waht the car was built for, What other opportunity will you have to take this kind of ride??
Joe . . . I'll go get it. You know the deal, buy my ticket home or i'll take the Euro. I think I want that car. I'm looking into airfares now. It's gotta be this weekend. I will bring the $ with me and pick up the car.
Morning plane ride to Denver, back early the next afternoon. Rip up some miles through God's country. I'd make you the same deal-- cover expenses like the plane ride and gas, it will be in your driveway a couple days later. It's that nice of a drive.
