Default Steering Shaft Bearing

I think the bearing on my steering shaft is failing. There is a lot lateral play and the base of the steering wheel is starting to contact the dash.

On PET I see a bearing and a sleeve. Do they both need replacement or just the bearing. Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks

usually just the bearing . The thin race is very brittle and the bearing just disintigates !! I have the bearing the spacer and just about everything else !!

I just noticed the same problem. The sleeve was only $9, and I'm already going to be in there, so I figured, WTF go ahead and do it WYAI.

It is worth noting that this rubbing of the wheel will often wear out or break the L shaped horn contact which is part of the combination switch and NOT available seperately ........$$$
