Hey,
I'm seeing these things and I'm wondering if they provide any benefit. My car runs at a nominal temp, but I wouldn't mind a little buffer...
thanks
Thaddeus

In theory I don't see why they wouldn't do something. Problem is, the oil is going through the filter at such a high rate, is it there long enough for any real heat to be pulled out onto the fins?

Thaddeus-
Do a search on the 911 forum on pelicanparts.com. There is a ton of "opinions" on the subject over there.
I own a 911SC as well so was interested as it runs warm in the summer in stop and go traffic with the a/c on or, if I really flog her hard in the mountains. I thought for the price, why not. I could definately use the buffer. The general consensus was that it may drop temps down by a few degrees. Lots of folks are of the opinion that it does nothing. I went for it and found the temps on average to be about 10 degrees less than before. Got way more benefit from replacing a return line to the tank with a finned unit.
In any event, in my experience, you do get a little benefit. Not sure if you'd notice a difference in the 928 as it is water cooled.
Regards,
