Went through this on my GTS with Bilstein shocks and the 928 International Eibach springs earlier this week. I don't do this on my own. I had my shop do it. My shop got to 170 on the front and 165 on the rear before running out of thread on the collar. Previously, the car been set up for autocross and by my calculations it was about an inch lower all around.
The correct ride height makes a real difference. And now I don't worry about bottoming out.

Jack up the front ,
turn the wheels to the left and make sure the weight is off the wheel,
